We Have Waited for a Year! The 19th Fengxian Yellow Peach Festival Is Finally Here! Time:2024-08-13
The name Qingxi comes from the green stream water flowing through the lush forests and tranquil villages on both banks into the sea; a piece of Qingxi water, running through the peach orchard, brings the comfort of sunshine, dew, and stars, nourishing today's Fengxian yellow peaches.
On August 16, a fierce and exciting contest for the crown of yellow peaches will kick off on the banks of Qingxi River. A cultural feast of yellow peaches, filled with the atmosphere of the countryside and culinary trends, will also take the stage.
On the banks of Qingxi, with the fragrance of yellow peaches, fun activities, and wonderful competitions... the fusion of culture and food will bring you a different experience of the "Yellow Peach Festival."
We will meet you at the intersection of Nanfeng Highway and Renmin Road, Qingxi Old Street, Fengxian District on August 16, and at LongFor Shanghai Jinhui Paradise Walk, No. 388 Nanxinggang Road, Fengxian District from August 17 to 18.

The 20th Yellow Peach Contest
In the 20th Yellow Peach Contest in 2024, yellow peaches will be evaluated through four major sensory systems: vision, taste, touch, and smell. Experts and citizens will score the participating yellow peaches based on single fruit weight, fruit appearance, flesh quality, skin color, taste sweetness, and other aspects.
I. Sample Selection
The participating samples are selected and sent by each yellow peach cooperative and demonstration household. Before the samples are sent, staff from the Qingcun Town Agriculture and Rural Service Center will conduct on-site inspections of the planting to ensure the samples are authentic and valid.
II. Evaluation Method
A combination of expert and citizen guest evaluation will be used. Scoring will be based on the yellow peaches' large size, regular shape, yellow color, sticky flesh, sweet taste, and rich aroma. Then, the ranking of the 20th Yellow Peach Contest in 2024 will be determined according to the evaluation scores.
1. For sample selection and evaluation, numbers will be randomly drawn before scoring and used for the evaluation.
2. For internal and external evaluation, the soluble solids content of the fruit will be measured using a sugar meter, while other external and internal qualities will be visually inspected and tasted.
III. Evaluation Criteria
The total score is 100 points, with 40 points for appearance and 60 points for internal quality.
(I) Appearance (40 points)
1. Fruit (15 points): size (5 points), uniformity (10 points)
2. Fruit skin (15 points)
3. Fruit shape (10 points)
(II) Internal Quality (60 points)
Soluble solids content (30 points), fruit flavor (20 points), flesh color (5 points), fruit core (5 points)
