The south extension project of Metro Line 15 signifies Fengxian's stride into an era of dual-rail connectivity and represents a vigorous leap forward in the development of its new urban area. The Office for the Advancement of the South Extension of Metro Line 15 told that there are noteworthy updates on the highly-anticipated line: the first-phase support structure of Oriental Beauty Valley Avenue Station, which is currently under construction, has been successfully completed, and the support structure of West Gate Highway Station is on the verge of being fully enclosed.

  Metro Line 15 traverses the entirety of Shanghai from north to south, passing by 9 universities and 3 national science parks. It offers interchange options with over 10 other metro lines, facilitating connections with the two major gateway hubs of Hongqiao and Pudong, the city center, and other new urban areas. It enables one-transfer access and hour-long journeys to various destinations. Upon completion and opening of the south extension, it will serve key functional zones such as Oriental Beauty Valley Industrial Park, the core area of Fengxian New City, and Zizhu National High-Tech Industrial Development Park, establishing a rapid-connection corridor between Fengxian New City and the main urban area. This development holds extreme significance for effectively addressing the deficiencies in Fengxian New City's rail transit infrastructure, empowering the city's growth, integrating into the multi-network convergence of the city's rail transit system, and contributing to the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
