Cherry Blossoms Present Breathtaking Views in Qingcun Time:2025-04-10

In the cherry orchards of Qingcun and Zhongcun in Fengxian, spring is in its richest bloom. Over a thousand cherry trees are adorned with layers of petals that stretch out in the sunlight, their white blossoms looking like frost and snow. At first glance, the white cherry blossoms might be mistaken for pear blossoms. But look closer and you will see a small notch at the tip of each cherry blossom petal, setting them apart from peach and pear blossoms.

Peach flowers typically emerge solo, their petals tapering to a gentle point. Meanwhile, pear flowers flaunt their plump petals, with a hint of red in the stamens. Cherry blossom clusters stand out with their lengthy stems, narrow petals that have a serrated edge, and an aura of delicate charm. The orchard keeper mentioned that the cherry blossoms are currently in their prime.

Talking about the cherry varieties, the keeper told that the garden has cherry trees from all around the globe. The varieties now growing in the garden are specially chosen and bred to thrive in the warm southern climate. In the orchard, many trees have multiple varieties grafted onto them. Each tree has a sign showing the variety, and each branch usually means a new variety. This way, it is easy to see how different varieties do in the same environment.

The garden plants about 70 cherry trees per mu. Each tree can give around 10 kilograms of cherries, so each mu can make between 750 kg and 1,000 kg. In the sun, the white cherry blossoms inside the greenhouse and the yellow rapeseed flowers outside look great together. The bright colors make early spring even more beautiful and romantic. In a month, the greenhouse cherries will be ready to pick and sell. If you love cherries, don't miss the chance to come and pick the sweet, ripe fruits!
