Launched by the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in collaboration with Nanqiao Town, Fengxian District, the Modern Field initiative has become a model for art-driven rural revitalization. For four years, it has leveraged art and design to fuel rural transformation and cultural renaissance. This year, the project focuses on "Empowering Rural New Quality Productive Forces through Art and Design", with the theme "Sharing, Symbiosis, and Co-creation".

This year's event brought together ten prestigious art academies from around the world, including the École de Design Nantes Atlantique in France, RMIT University in Australia, Osaka University of Arts in Japan, as well as leading Chinese academies like the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Donghua University, and East China University of Science and Technology, to collaborate in the "3×3×3 Field Magic Cube" on-site creation project.

This year's art festival features the "3×3×3 Field Magic Cube", centered on the themes of "Natural Charm", "Courtyard Ambience", and "Romantic Island". It invites university teams to immerse themselves in the rural landscape, using their artistic vision to explore the present and future of the countryside.

As designs move from rice fields to courtyards and onto the "Romantic Island" in Jianghai Village, Nanqiao, art transforms from an external ornament into a vital force that redefines rural vitality.
