Fengxian Installs Non-Motor Vehicle Left-Turn Signs at 12 Intersections to Ease Congestion Through Upgraded Facilities Time:2026-06-10
To curb the chaos of non-motor vehicles weaving across and jumping ahead during left turns at intersections, eliminate road safety hazards, and further regulate traffic order and improve flow, Fengxian traffic police have rolled out a fine-tuned upgrade of local road infrastructure. Dedicated left-turn traffic notice signs for non-motor vehicles have been added at 12 key intersections across the district, paired with the simultaneous activation of dedicated left-turn signals. The measures bring comprehensive order to how non-motor vehicles make left turns, making travel safer and more orderly for residents.
This upgrade targets stretches with dense traffic, complex road conditions, and frequent mixed-flow violations. Twelve key intersections with intricate signal phasing were selected for the rollout, including Hangnan Road in Nanqiao, Guoshun Road along the Shanghai-Hangzhou corridor, and Oriental Beauty Valley Avenue. A dual-control, dual-guidance model of "dedicated signals plus eye-catching signs" precisely maps out left-turn routes for non-motor vehicles, resolving conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles at the source. To ensure a smooth transition to the new facilities and rules, traffic authorities will station auxiliary officers at key intersections during the initial period to provide on-site guidance, promptly correct improper behavior, and help residents follow the rules and develop safe, civic-minded travel habits.
