Spring in Fengxian: A Memory Maker for Visitors from All Around Shanghai Time:2024-03-08
In the recently concluded Spring Festival holiday, Fengxian District's various scenic spots welcomed 337,200 visitors, marking a year-on-year increase of 201.20% compared to the Spring Festival holiday in 2023. Destinations such as Qingxi Old Street, Jinhai Lake, Guhua Garden, Fengxian Museum, Yanzishi Academy, and Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park emerged as popular choices for leisure and family bonding among citizens. This wave of tourism fervor in Fengxian has persisted into the bloom of spring.
With the recent pleasant weather, Guhua Park has been bustling with visitors, notably many "city dwellers" speaking Shanghainese, a departure from the usual crowd."
I have visited Fengxian twice and have noticed significant changes. It's beautiful here with birdsong and floral fragrances, clean air, and is quite fitting for us seniors," remarked Madam Hua from Yangpu District, who, since her retirement, has taken a liking to travel and sightseeing. After her last visit to Jinhai Lake, she yearned to return to Fengxian, seizing the warm weather as an opportunity to organize a trip with her friends.
Madam Zhao, accompanying Madam Hua, felt that touring Fengxian offered not just splendid views and delectable food but also great value for money. "Things here are affordable. The travel agency offers a variety of tours without costing much, 30 yuan can get us seniors out for a good time. Moreover, the day trips are perfectly suited for us, being entirely hassle-free," she added.
The travel package costing 29 yuan, plus an additional 2 yuan for insurance, totaling 31 yuan per person, allows visitors to explore various districts, including a lunch and round-trip bus service. This appealing offer, specially curated for the elderly by travel agencies, has won the hearts of many like Madam Zhao.
Departing from Yangpu and Baoshan in the morning, the group arrives in Fengxian for lunch, followed by a visit to Guhua Park and then the Haiwan Tourist Resort. The tour guide, Old Ma, explains that although these spots are renowned parks, they do not require an entry fee. "For some senior friends, venturing out on their own can be both exhausting and unsafe. Hence, we've meticulously planned the route and transportation. Now, with spring in the air, it's the perfect time to take it easy and enjoy a leisurely day out."
The plum blossom serves as a herald of spring, and currently, it is the season when mid-to-late blooming varieties flourish. The 11th Shanghai Plum Blossom Festival is underway at Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park, where 40,000 plum trees burst into bloom, attracting numerous citizens and tourists to this exclusive springtime rendezvous.
Many female citizens donned pristine white gauze dresses, waving golden ribbon dragons amidst the blush-red plum trees, dancing gracefully. Madam Wang, alongside many photography enthusiasts, seized the opportunity for a photo session. "We've come from Xujiahui, and driving here is convenient. In spring, the plum blossoms are among the first to bloom. With today's splendid weather and the beautiful blossoms, we feel very fortunate and happy. The scenery here, with its lake views, plum blossoms, and classical pavilions, is truly magnificent."
In response to the enthusiastic visitors, Haiwan National Forest Park has introduced a limited-time ticket promotion. From now until March 24, during the Plum Blossom Festival, visitors whose names contain the character "梅" (plum) can enter the park free of charge upon presenting valid ID. Furthermore, from March 8 to 10, in celebration of Women's Day, the park is offering female visitors half-price tickets, making the enjoyment of beautiful scenery even more affordable for citizens.
Fengxian tourism, characterized by its coastal, new town, and rural landscapes, stands out in the city's tourism market. In recent years, Fengxian District has focused on the "three areas and two towns" tourism development strategy, integrating rural tourism resources in Nanqiao, Qingcun, and Zhuanghang, thus creating distinctive tourism products and an industrial chain. By incorporating traditional Chinese culture and seasonal festivals, Fengxian continuously develops themed tourism products such as coastal, rural, and urban tours, enriching the tourism product market. Upholding the philosophy of shaping tourism through culture and highlighting culture through tourism, Fengxian meticulously plans and sustains the creation of unique cultural and tourism festivals, crafting new highlights and topics in tourism promotion, and progressively enhancing the "For leisure, visit Fengxian" brand's appeal.
