From July 1 to July 5, the second stop of the 2024 Shanghai Youth Sports Elite Series Sailing and Windsurfing Competition and the Shanghai Youth Sailing and Windsurfing Championship were held at the Qilang Sports Water Base in the Bihai Jinsha Scenic Area of the Bay Tourist Resort in Fengxian District. The event was hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau, organized by the Shanghai Sailing and Windsurfing Association and the Fengxian District Sports Bureau of Shanghai, and co-organized by Shanghai Bihai Jinsha Investment Development Co., Ltd. and the Qilang Youth Sports Club of Fengxian District, Shanghai. A total of 203 people registered for this series, and 164 people registered for the championship, with a total of 185 boats competing at sea.

  The Shanghai Youth Sports Elite Series is the largest local youth high-level comprehensive competition platform in Shanghai. There were 22 competition events in this competition, including 14 sailing events and 8 windsurfing events. To ensure the smooth progress of this competition, a luxurious team of 12 arbitrators and 32 referees from across the country was invited to serve the competition, with plans to conduct 11 rounds of competition.

  At the competition site, the waves were dotted with sails, dancing like birds. Surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Bihai Jinsha, outstanding young sailors and windsurfers from the city engaged in fierce competition, braving the wind and waves with agility, demonstrating the courage and perseverance of the youth.

  It is reported that in order to better utilize coastal resources and provide tourists with a great place to enjoy the water in summer, the nearby sea—Bihai Jinsha will join hands with the Qilang Youth Sports Club to launch the "Bihai Jinsha Water Sports Season" activity from July to August. The two-month event will feature a number of professional water sports events, including the Shanghai Youth Sports Elite Series Sailing and Windsurfing Competition, the Shanghai stop of the Meisha Education National Youth Sailing and Windsurfing League, the Qilang Sports Water Sports Club Competition, and the Qilang Sports Sailing and Windsurfing Summer Camp Competition. At the same time, there will be water activities such as speedboats, wing foils, water flying, kayaking, and dragon boats for tourists to experience.
