2025 CBSA "Liberwin Tex • Nanjiang Cup" China Professional Snooker Tour Makes Its Debut in Fengxian Time:2025-06-26

On June 23, the 2025 CBSA "Liberwin Tex • Nanjiang Cup" China Professional Snooker Tour Fengxian Open kicked off at Sheraton Shanghai Fengxian Hotel. Hosted by the Chinese Billiards & Snooker Association (CBSA), organized by the Fengxian Sports Bureau, the Fengxian Sports Federation, and the Fengxian Billiards & Snooker Association, this tournament attracted top-notch domestic snooker players. It is also a milestone as it is the first time the China Professional Snooker Tour has taken place in Fengxian, Shanghai, since it was launched in 2007.

The event drew participation from top-tier Chinese professional snooker players, including Mei Xiwen, Li Yan, and Luo Honghao, who are in the top 32 rankings. It also featured 32 players who advanced through the qualifying rounds and some wild card entries. A noteworthy aspect is the Fengxian Billiards & Snooker Association, which has been around for less than two years. The association has shown remarkable courage and a strong sense of duty, accomplishing everything from planning the event to pulling together all the necessary resources. CBSA has commended its efforts, highlighting its excellent follow-through that makes every part of the event shine with professionalism and care.

The competition follows a single-elimination format. The final is a best-of-nine contest, and all other matches are best-of-seven. Participating players will receive domestic points based on their standings and CBSA's latest points ranking regulations. The top two players in the year-end points ranking will secure a place in the next season's professional tournament of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA). This event's success not only fills the long-time gap of snooker tournaments in Shanghai, but also is expected to create a virtuous cycle of "cultivating talents through competitions". Top-level competitions will serve as a model to draw more young people into the snooker sport and build up new forces for the Chinese billiards cause.
