In the warm spring of March, women show their brilliance. On International Women's Day, a major women's water sports event is announced: the 2026 China International Women's Rowing Elite Race will take place from May 15 to 17 at Jinhui Port, Fengxian, Shanghai. Female rowers from around the world will meet at Fengxian New City • Shanghai Fish. Competing with speed and strength, they will present the charm of modern women and highlight Fengxian as an "International City of Outdoor Sports".

As the world's only official elite women's rowing event, the China International Women's Rowing Elite Race has been successfully staged in Fengxian for three times. The 2026 edition is upgraded with the theme "Her Power", highlighting women's diverse charm and potential. Top international rowers will compete, and Olympic champions and sports stars will be invited to boost the event. There will also be a carnival with food, creative products and markets for an immersive experience. The special "Athlete Night" will create an open platform for international exchange and brand cooperation. In May, Fengxian will be a hub for water sports lovers around the world.

The competition has been carefully structured to be both professional and public-friendly. It includes two main events: Women's Quadruple Sculls 1000m and Women's Double Sculls 500m, with three categories: Elite, University and Club. Rowing enthusiasts of all levels can join and enjoy water sports. The event uses "Invitation + Open Recruitment": top professional teams are invited, while top university teams, local teams and Fengxian teams are welcomed globally. It shows women's sports strength through wide participation.

Through competition and scenery, this event will go beyond simple sports and build a diversified "competition + consumption + experience" ecosystem. The "Fengxian Outdoor Sports Life Exhibition" will open during the May 1 holiday and run until the end of the event. Combined with the Jinhai Lake's outdoor setting, it will form a waterfront leisure zone for watching, experiencing and shopping. It will connect cultural landmarks including Fengxian Museum and "Above Water" Sci-Fi Pavilion, turning event popularity into real consumption growth. This will drive the integration of culture, commerce, tourism, sports and exhibitions, offering visitors a brand-new one-stop waterfront experience.
