Riders Converge by Bay: 2026 Shanghai University Road Cycling Open Crosses Finish Line Time:2026-04-22
The spring breeze rolls on, and so does the fervor. On April 19, the 2026 "Phoenix Fnix Cup" Shanghai University Road Cycling Open and the Fengxian Haiwan Bike Ride Festival drew to a triumphant close at Fisherman's Wharf in the Fengxian Bay Tourism Area.
Twenty-nine university cycling teams from across the country, comprising roughly 2,100 young riders, converged on southern Shanghai. Rallying behind the slogan "Ride to the Bay, Full Throttle Ahead," they raced along the 55-kilometer "Most Scenic Course in Southern Shanghai," carving out speed and passion where forest meets surf and delivering a sports-tourism spectacle that married competitive thrill with urban charm.
Our thanks go to every student on the 29 university teams and to each rider in the recreational group, who came to the course out of love and gave voice to their youth through grit; to every resident who followed the event and helped create an atmosphere both spirited and orderly; and, above all, to the event staff whose quiet dedication—from pre-race preparation to post-race wrap-up—brought rigor and care to every stage and made this event the success it was.
Using the bicycle as its thread, the event linked the ecological beauty of Fengxian Bay with the appeal of the city, immersing young students in the coastal character of southern Shanghai through competition and amplifying the signature "Sports plus Culture and Tourism" brand. Beyond building a platform for collegiate competition and exchange and promoting cycling, the event drew on a multifaceted "Sports plus Culture and Tourism plus Employment" synergy to elevate Fengxian's civic image, becoming a new benchmark for sports development in southern Shanghai.
The wheels keep turning, and so does the passion. The 2026 Shanghai University Road Cycling Open has reached its finish line, but the story of Fengxian and cycling rolls on. In the years ahead, we will keep crafting premier events, keeping our date with youth in the name of sport and bearing witness to many more exhilarating moments.
Riders, we'll see you next year!
