The 6th Shanghai Global Talents Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (Hangzhou Division) & 2026 Fengxian District "New Shoots in Science and Technology Innovation · Talent Gathering in Fengxian" Live Roadshow of Global Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition Conclude Successfully in Hangzhou on May 21 and 22.

The competition cast a wide net for talent, drawing participants from across the globe into what has become a converging wave of international innovation. Since project submissions opened in April 2026, 706 teams from around the world have signed up to compete. Following an expert online review, 105 standout projects advanced to the roadshow stage, spanning six frontier tracks: integrated circuits, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, green and low-carbon technologies, high-end equipment, and fashion and consumer goods. Teams pitched their ventures in three categories corresponding to their stage of development: seed, startup, and growth.

Twenty-one top-tier industry judges, nearly 50 investors from financial institutions, and heads of key industrial parks in the district gathered to bring professional insight to bear on innovation, back promising ventures with capital, and apply rigorous standards to project selection. Fengxian has built an ecosystem that spans industrial parks and sci-tech platforms, policy incentives and fertile ground for growth, a "tropical rainforest"-style innovation environment ready to nurture every seed of scientific and technological endeavor from first roots to full bloom.

The roadshow's opening ceremony featured a series of presentations on Fengxian's investment environment, talent and industry policies, investment and financing services, and policies related to the Returnee Town initiative, offering a comprehensive look at the district's commitment to attracting, developing, and retaining talent, and helping project teams from home and abroad gain a deeper understanding of Fengxian and greater confidence in putting down roots there.

Going forward, Fengxian District will refine its competitive tracks in line with the four signature industrial sectors under its key industry advancement initiative. Through end-to-end follow-up services, the district will identify a core group of high-impact projects, ones rich in talent, output, and innovation, with strong potential for local implementation and delivering investment returns, to strengthen, extend, and complete its industrial chains.
