The press conference for the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) China Shanghai round was held at the Haiwan Outdoor Sports Field in Fengxian, Shanghai on the afternoon of July 19. The successful convening of the press conference signals the official entry of all preparatory work for this event into its final sprint phase.

During the event, International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) President Jorge Viegas and 2025 MXGP World Champion Romain Febvre extended congratulatory video messages, expressing their best wishes for the success of the 2026 MXGP China.

Xu Bin bestowed the titles of "2026 MXGP Event Supporter" and "2026 MXGP Future Star" upon motocross rider Xu Jianhao and "Young Rider" Program participant Zhang Ruixin, respectively, while event promotion ambassadors were also honored.

The Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China (CAMF) and Hehui Investment Group signed a framework agreement for the 2027-2029 China Motocross Championship (CMX). Information regarding the event, including participating teams, facilities, and logistical support, was unveiled. Oriental Beauty Valley Group and H&H Sports signed an exclusive title sponsorship agreement for the Shanghai round of 2026 MXGP.

As the sole Asian round in the 2026 MXGP season, this event promises a comprehensive upgrade in both competitive intensity and spectator experience. It will feature 33 top teams from 22 countries and regions, over 90 professional riders, 8 world champions competing head-to-head, and 40 motorcycles starting simultaneously, ensuring a peak level of competition. Notably, Chongqing Junchi Motorcycle Company(JHLMOTO) announced its participation, with its JHLOFR becoming China's first domestic manufacturer team to compete alongside international powerhouses like KTM, Yamaha, and Honda, thereby rewriting the history of Chinese motocross.
